What judges are saying about us....
Marching Assessment (General Effect - Powhatan FC) "What a show!! My, my, my, my...oh my, what a show! I've got to tell you...we start to see a formula after awhile from bands. Everyone is afraid to be different, to go out on a limb. You have done that. This show was unique, it was exciting, it was risky, it was devilishly difficult, details were all attended to well, and it was one of my favorites of the season!"
Concert Assessment (Wind Ensemble) "Oh that was great! Haha. Man, that was terrific! Wow!! Tremendous job!! Great job, man. Wow. What a group. You've got to, you've got to submit for national conference. Man. Really fine, fine job. Congratulations. What a wonderful wonderful ensemble. Great teaching! Really impressive. I enjoyed it so much!”
Essentially Ellington Jazz Competition (Judge 1) "Very tasteful program, and some great teaching going on here! You've managed to capture some of the soulful swing of the Ellington Canon, and the way you perform on stage is exciting! It's easy to see that you truly enjoy the music you're making."
The Percussion Spectacular (a director) "A totally rad event!!! The Forge group was phenomenal, and it's a great chance for our ensemble to show off what they've worked on while listening to others. The eclectic sub-culture of percussion is welcome here - I dig it. Thanks to CF for hosting this."
