Here is an update to the above announcement: Band Parents/Guardians/Students, Sound & Guard (S&G) is starting up! Rehearsals begin on Wednesdays, starting March 10th. We will rehearse from 4:30–6:00 pm. See below for the full schedule. We are going to practice stand tunes to play at the football game on April 1st. I also plan to meet through April, on Wednesday evenings, to work on Basics and Fundamentals, enabling us to be in a better position once we commence marching activities in the Summer/Fall. We will play at any home playoff football games in April (hopefully). There is an opportunity for parents to watch the S&G, but I need an accurate count. Please fill out this form if you are planning to participate or if you are choosing not to. This form also has a question for parents planning to attend.*AS OF 3/4/21 ONLY SENIOR PARENTS WILL BE ABLE TO ATTEND.* (This could change depending on Gov easing restrictions, etc.)

In case of inclement weather, we will have to cancel the rehearsal that night. Announcements will go out through the Remind app and will also be posted on the www.forgepride.com website. What You Need For Rehearsals Equipment. Instrument, sticks, flags/rifles, etc. If you need to keep instruments at the school, we will stagger you in and out to get them, so you are not crowding a small storage area. Water Bottle. Water will not be available in coolers like in the past. We will be rehearsing for 1.5 hours instead of the usual three, and not in the heat of August. Each student needs to bring 1 or 2 LARGE water bottles. Masks. You must wear a mask at all times. Make sure there is a hole cut into it for your mouthpiece. Paperwork. This year, students will not be allowed to participate, per SCPS and VHSL mandates, without their ENTIRE registration packet, filled out and turned in. That includes a current physical with a doctor’s signature. We do not want to turn a single student away, so please make sure you have that turned in ASAP. If you have already turned that in, thank you! Other Info Restrooms are available inside if needed. Only 2-3 people will be allowed inside at any one time. Departure: Students can be picked up at 6:05 in the student lot. There will be no transportation provided by SCPS (no activity buses). Schedule Here is the schedule as of now. Playoff games are not on here yet and can be added if we have any home games.
