Band CampCLOSED
Assist purchasing, preparing, and cooking a meal(s) during band camp evenings for the kids. We establish themed nights in our Sign-Up Genius to assist you for each evening, which includes transporting the meal to the school during dinnertime (around 5pm), serving the children, and cleaning up afterwards.

Our largest fundraiser. All band students will travel through Forge-districted neighborhoods in their uniforms to engage with the community and seek their financial support of our band program. We rely on parent volunteers to use specific routes already developed by the Boosters to drive students around the neighborhoods. This is a really big financial fundraiser for the band program. Look for a Sign-Up Genius. Additionally, we partner with fast food establishments to host a spirit night (% of proceeds from each food purchase are deposited for the Boosters) in the evening following the completion of the day's events. This year, it is Chipotle for families off route 17 and exit 133 (near Target) and Sweet Frog off exit 140 or 143, for families in that area.

Another large fundraiser. A private company performs a majority of the work, setting up mattresses and bedding in our school cafeteria and sells them to the community. The organizer will speak to parents during the August and September General Membership meeting for more information. Commitment only quires some parents and students to hold signs on street corners adjacent to Forge High School for a few hours on the day of the event.

Another big fundraiser. Parents are needed to help set-up the concession stand ahead of the start time of the football games, run the concession stand during the game, and help take down, and count money, after the game.

The marching band performs at all home football games (Fridays). It is critical we have an organized way to feed the children and order food from the concession stand ahead of time and deliver it to them during football games.

The marching band performs at competitions around Virginia (Saturdays). It is critical we have an organized way to feed the children or request food for students to bring to the school on their arrival for marching band events (Saturdays) and for parents to package and drive the food to the show, set-up, serve, take down, and help drive back.

Students enjoy going on an annual trip together to Disney World and/or Universal Studios. While this has been a tradition, we have not been able to travel for the past few years due to COVID and conflicting schedules with the school and music calendar. It is a tremendous amount of planning with the destination site, bus companies, hotels, school schedules, and payment, that we really need one person devoted to planning this effort, and starting very soon, due to scheduling time with Disney and/or Universal Studios. If you are able to lead this effort, it would be greatly appreciated, or, work with someone else to do so. The Board will keep these personnel up-to-date on available dates.
